Why does my background make a difference? Why does that matter?
I understand how disease can affect your physical and mental health and how to work safely within defined parameters.
I understand how medications interact with each other and within your body and take these interactions into consideration when building your program. I understand that what we eat and how we eat positively or negatively impacts our
physical wellness.
Most people take supplements or medications daily. However, do they fully understand how these drugs interact with their health conditions?
Supplements and medications can interact adversely with each other and with preexisting health conditions.
My expertise allows me to examine your current supplement and medication routine to determine the impacts, interactions, and potential side effects.
What makes you qualified to be a personal trainer and health coach?
I have been a physical fitness enthusiast for many years, working on my own health I've learned from many various trainers over the years. I understand what it's like to be under a trainers supervision. I've taken the best practices from these trainers, my knowledge as a doctor, and my own life experience to put together a program of training not only for your body but your mental and spiritual well-being.
Overcoming my own challenges.
October 5, 2019 was a typical Saturday for me. After awakening I had breakfast and headed into the CrossFit box for another hard WOD (Workout of the Day). Had a great workout and headed home. Later that afternoon I was washing my bicycles on the front lawn, when I went into the house for a brief break and upon entering my family room I “stumbled” and met my tile floor. I thought about what just happened and tried to get up off the floor. Despite being able to do pushups all day long, for some reason I could not get myself up on the couch. Exhausted from trying, I laid there on the cold tile floor trying to process what was happening to my body. Aside from stumbling and not being able to get myself up off the floor I felt fine. I attempted once more to get onto the couch, getting my right arm onto it and trying to stand. I could not completely stand up and noticed a sensation that something was hitting against the inner part of my right thigh every time I attempted to get up. Looking down to see what it was I found it was my left-hand swaying into my inner thigh. Light bulb went off and I realized I was having a stroke! Fast forward, EMS took me to the closest hospital with a stroke center where they ran a CT scan, administered tPA (known as the clot busting drug), which failed and ultimately underwent a thrombectomy. A 10mm blood clot was removed almost 4 hours after I had collapsed on my floor, allowing for the reperfusion of blood back into the area that had received no blood for almost 4hrs. The final diagnosis was a right main cerebral artery (MCA) stroke. More
